Forte Vannkraft AS has bought 100% of the shares in Norhard AS and is now the owner of drilling rigs and technology for directional drilling, as well as the operating company Norhard. At the same time, Børge Elle has been appointed as CEO.
Norhard and Forte have together built a drilling rig with a 1200 mm diameter and a reach of 2.6 km. This was put into operation in November last year at the Ervikelva power plant in Førde. With experienced operators, Norhard has achieved good progress with speeds of up to 35 meters per day.
Collective ownership and operation of the drilling rigs provides increased utilization of equipment and increased financial strength for the drilling business. We see this as a springboard for further investment in hydropower with one-cut drilling with 1200 mm, and at the same time a long-term investment in cables and other infrastructure with our machines of 400- and 700-mm diameter.
